The UK government’s “Prepare” campaign offers straightforward advice to help households get ready for emergencies such as power cuts, severe weather, flooding or other unexpected disruptions. The recommended essentials include a battery-powered or wind-up flashlight (safer than candles), a battery-powered or wind-up radio to stay informed if electricity or internet fails, a portable power bank for charging phones, spare batteries for devices and any medical equipment, a basic first aid kit with items like plasters, bandages, antiseptic, sterile dressings, gloves and tweezers, hand sanitizer and wet wipes for hygiene when water is limited, bottled water (at least 2.5–3 liters per person per day for drinking, ideally 10 liters including cooking and basic hygiene), non-perishable ready-to-eat food along with a can opener, plus pet-person food and baby supplies like diapers and ready-made formula if needed. The idea is to keep everything in one easy-to-grab place, check and rotate items every 6 to 12 months, and adapt the kit to your household’s specific needs. Full details are available anytime on the official prepare.campaign.gov.uk website (Daily Star)

Tips on how to use ginger properly:
+ Proper Storage: To prevent dehydration and flavor loss caused by low refrigerator humidity, ginger should be wrapped or frozen rather than left uncovered.
+ Minimal Peeling: Beneficial compounds like gingerol and essential antioxidants are concentrated in the outer layers; peeling too deeply discards these potent nutrients.
+ Fresh over Powdered: Fresh ginger retains volatile oils and aromatic compounds that are often lost during the industrial drying and grinding processes used for powdered ginger.
+ Immediate Use: Cutting ginger hours in advance leads to oxidation and the dissipation of aromatic volatile compounds once the surfaces are exposed to air

I could hear from floating up, leaving my body, nurses were — their voices were elevated, and “Get the anesthesiologist,” and “She’s not breathing.” American spiritual medium Barbara Gail shares three near-death experiences involving encounters with Lord Jesus Christ (vegetarian), a being from Venus, and her father at what she describes as Heaven’s door. Barbara began communicating with the other side at age three, shocking her parents with messages that eventually saved their lives. Born with a heart condition called Wolf Parkinson White syndrome that caused 500 beats per minute, she never feared death because she already knew the afterlife was real. In 1988, Barbara had her first near-death experience when her heart condition became critical.
I was met by Christ. And He asked me ultimately, “Are you coming with me?” And I knew what that meant. I intuitively knew that meant I’m leaving. But I had a young child sleeping upstairs, and I felt, “Oh, I can’t have her wake up and find my dead body. It would traumatize her.” And so, I said no. But as soon as I told Him no and the pain started, I thought, “Oh, I made a mistake. Wait a minute.” And what He said is, “We will help you begin again.” And that’s what happened that first time. Christ and the whole team that loves me — and you have a team that loves you, too — helped me begin again. And it was one miracle after another.
Years later, in 2010, Barbara went to a restaurant and told the waiter about her deadly peanut allergy, but something was lost in translation. After unknowingly consuming peanuts, she went into anaphylactic shock and was rushed to the emergency room, where she experienced another near-death episode.
It was really serious. I was turning blue, and my God, I wouldn’t trade that experience for anything. And again, I’m not advocating for this. I’m not saying do anything to create it, but my near-death experiences, every one of them, was a gift. And I got to see my dad. And my dad was the light of my life growing up. He was the compassionate one and the gentle and loving one. And when I saw my dad, he was standing like this, like his arms crossed above his solar plexus. And next to my dad, there were these double doors. And I’d never seen the doors before. Not in any of my out-of-body experiences or anything. Not for all the readings I’ve done for people. I never saw it that way. And the doors were ajar. And this light, this blazing white light, was coming through the doors. So here’s the light coming through the open doors. Here’s my dad. It didn’t get any better than that for me.
I could hear the doctors in the background. And again, I didn’t care. I raced towards my dad and the doors. But what happened was, as I got just close enough — this was really heartbreaking for me — the doors went from this to this, and they closed, and the light — I didn’t get to see the light — and my dad was shaking his head no. My dad telepathically was saying, “No, go back. Go back.” And I didn’t want to, but I also felt like, I couldn’t ignore what he was saying. So I turn around, I start coming back, but I am tenacious and persistent. And so my dad should have expected this. And I tried two more times. I tried. Because when I turned around again, oh my God, the doors were open. The light was shining through. Each time I got close enough, the doors closed, no more light was being shown, and my dad shaking his head. When I came back, I was depressed for weeks because I wanted to be just in this incredibly beautiful, peaceful place.
In March of a recent year, Barbara experienced another near-death episode during what was supposed to be a routine outpatient procedure. She had difficulty waking from anesthesia.
So, I wasn’t waking up, and it’s really — forgive me if I say this, but I love it. I love the feeling of, “I’m free. I’m out of my body.” I’m not advocating leaving before your time because every second you have here is important. You want to finish up, and you want to do as much as you can to get as much as you can done because you signed up for certain things. There are contracts and pacts and agreements that you said you would do certain work. So if you don’t know what it is, it’s really critically important you get in touch with that.
But, I could hear from floating up, leaving my body, nurses were — their voices were elevated, and “Get the anesthesiologist,” and “She’s not breathing,” and I was almost, “Oh, OK.” I just wasn’t concerned about it at all. And then I saw this very, very tall being of blue, white, light, and pink — and gorgeous. And I knew this was a male energy. And I was like, “Wow, who are you?” And I asked him who he was. And he said his name was Kraton. And he was from Venus. And he wanted to show me something. And he took me there. So, I went to a Venus that our scientists — we’re not allowed to see because we’re just not a peaceful enough people yet. And I saw the crystals and the colors and the love. It was extraordinary. And the reason I’m telling you this is because it’s so important for you to know we’re not alone.
Whenever we have a near-death experience, our vibration becomes in contact with higher frequencies. So you want to really be meditating daily with the intention, I am remembering everything that happened. Show me what I need to see. Tell me what I need to hear so I can fulfill everything I agreed to do when I came back here. If you’ve had a near-death experience, you know you didn’t take any money with you. You didn’t take anything with you but what’s inside. You’ve got to learn to like and love yourself. Self-acceptance. Once you see yourself as God sees you, nothing and no one can hurt you ever, ever, ever. (The Other Side NDE)
