In this episode, Master presents poetry and songs, explaining lyrics that express the soul’s deep longing for GOD.

(We run the newspaper; we’re the ones who print it.) Courageous, aren’t you? (If we can’t do it, then we’ll shut down.) Courageous, indeed? (We started it ourselves, and we print it ourselves.) Oh, right. That’s what makes it difficult. (It’s not as though they’re the ones putting up the money.) (It’s not as though they’re giving us anything.) Oh, really? But what about the advertising fees? Don’t they pay you to place advertisements? (If they advertise, they have to pay us.) Ah, is that so? (But if they don’t advertise now, then we… Master knows the saying, “Even without that person, the market is still crowded.”) Oh, really? (One person leaves, another comes in.) (Yes, so we just keep doing what we’re doing.) (There’s nothing to be afraid of.) OK. We don’t know if they’re on our side or the enemy’s side, right? Alright (Who knows? Maybe one of Master’s disciples will come along one day and say, “Let me place an advertisement.”) It takes courage to be a journalist. That’s very good.

Working in journalism requires courage. That’s true to our profession and in our ideals. It is not easy. Very good, I like it. (So, just because they say that, are we supposed to give up?) (We can’t just take it back.) (“Alright, forget it, just put it back. I won’t publish it anymore.”) Yes. It’s also a test of your courage, isn’t it? Maybe later she’ll write back and plead: “Oh, I was only joking the other day. Don’t be upset. Today, I’ll place three or four more ads.” We must follow what we believe is right, at any cost. (Once we’ve committed to doing it, we do it.) Yes.

(Some of Your disciples also placed advertisements, but they didn’t mention that they were Your disciples.) Is that so? (They don’t say anything.) OK. (They didn’t mention it.) They didn’t say they were my disciples? (There’s one person...) They all work quietly behind the scenes. (They sell furniture.) (OK. They sell furniture.) (I don’t know that one know yet. There are a lot of Master’s disciples in Monterey Park and Alhambra.) (Some furniture store owners asked us to run an ad for them.) (They were asked, “Why haven’t you advertised in our magazine before…?”)

(“When I saw the photo [of Master], I decided to place an ad.”) Ah, really? So beautiful, huh? And then I looked at it and saw how beautiful it was, and I said: “Oh! How come I have such a beautiful photo and didn’t even know it?” I didn’t know I have that picture. What is all this? OK. Can you take, please, thank you. You look like a buffalo(-person). A water buffalo(-person). Like a water buffalo(-person), drinking so much water. Do you have any more questions? Or if there’s anything personal you want to ask, just ask. It’s alright. He can talk over there. That’s fine. The two of us can talk here. (No, we’re just chatting for fun.) Having fun? OK. (Like family.) Yeah. OK.

If we have some free time, we can recite poetry together for fun. Reciting poetry, drinking coffee, and stuff like that. (Karaoke too.) You sing very well, Master.) Sure. OK. I’ve just released some really nice Twist songs. (On the way back, Master was walking along and singing, “I cross the ferry.”) (We really have to watch the video to see how funny it is.)

(Master has recently written new lyrics for some American and Aulacese [Vietnamese] songs. She wrote them Herself.) (Could we should publish an excerpt from Your poem this time, Master?) Which poem? (The poem You published in that News magazine… That was a beautiful poem.) OK. Yeah, if you like. (The English poem. It’s very romantic!) But it’s all about love for GOD. But whether anyone understands that, I don’t know. (But we just read it like that.) Well, people can also interpret that “love” as human love. (Yes.) That poem, “My Love Is Far Away.” (Yes. That one is good.) That poem has been turned into a beautiful song. I’ll set it to music.

My Love is far away Hes still remembers who am I? Separated by the Milky Way My longing’s river deep, mountain high My Love is far away Where Heaven and Earth unite (Yes.) That is GOD’s island. From immemorial time Leave me alone, longing! Again and again, I wander Through thousand galaxies and worlds, Through myriad deaths and births, Searching for my Lover My Love’s far away ever My heart longs for You ever…

Is it good? (Yes. Master sings very well.) Is there a chorus as well? Or is that all? I see. (Yes.) (This afternoon, I read that piece again for the second time.) (I read it again this afternoon for the second time.) What about the middle part? The middle part. How does it go? (Again and again, I wander) No, that’s different.

My Love is far away Hes still remembers who am I? Long nights, yearning for my best Friend Dreaming of the Milky Way Oh! Hey, hey, any passerby Any passerby Please stop and tell me where Hiers Kingdom is Do you know the Way? My Love from far away Where Heaven and Earth unite From immemorial time

The term “immemorial time” means having no beginning – in general, it means timeless. But it can also mean someone who is unfaithful. GOD has left us behind; He doesn’t seem to pay any attention to us. Isn’t that so? From immemorial time Leave me alone, longing! Again and again, I wander Through thousand galaxies and worlds, Through myriad deaths and births, Searching for my Lover My Love’s far away ever My heart longs for You ever…

We truly are searching – searching for that Self. Searching for our Most Beloved One. That is our True Self. Searching for our Original Self. That is the Greatest Beloved. The little loves in this world are just copies, copies. Therefore, it is because of that Great Love that human beings keep searching for love, do you understand? People must love one another, must seek one another. That is all because of that Great Love. (It’s so much fun.) (You are Happy Buddha! You’re so cheerful and artistic too.) (But today, looking at Your hands, I can see why You’re an artist. With such delicate fingers, who else could paint but You? )

(Does Master hold an art exhibition every year?) Not really. Only occasionally. I exhibit only when people invite me to. (Was the exhibition in Taiwan [Formosa], or…?) Usually, my disciples come to see it, and other people come as visitors. But last year, there was an exhibition in Brussels, in Belgium. It’s called Belgium, correct? (Brussels.) Brussels, Belgium. Alright. OK. Because they invited me to bring my paintings for an exhibition. That’s why I held an official exhibition. But usually, wherever I go – whether to give lectures or for something else – my disciples bring along a few paintings and hang them on the wall for the guests to view. (Beautiful. All of those paintings are so beautiful.) There’s no need to hold any official exhibition.

(That day, we picked out two paintings, right?) Which painting? (We wanted to take them home with us.) (“The Sun.”) (“The Sun” one.) (We could only take pictures of it; we couldn’t take it home.) (Yes, we took pictures.) You want to take them home? Let me give them to you. Which two – which ones? I’ll give them to you. (Let us go back and look over the pictures again; then we’ll remember which ones.) OK, “The Sun.” (They were pretty strict, weren’t they?) (So strict. Before we could even get close, they were already pushing us away. They wouldn’t even let us look at the paintings.) Because when it comes to the disciples… (Only one or two of the paintings have Master’s signature.) Because they’re afraid disciples might get the paintings dirty.

(Why are there some paintings that Master didn’t sign?) Maybe because of the framing… (I only saw “Biển Đông” written there; below there was just the name, and above it was the signature.) Maybe the signatures got covered up when they framed the paintings. Sometimes I forget to sign them. When the disciples bring them to me, I remember and sign them. Because once I just paint for fun, and only afterward do I think about such things. They have to remind me, and then I remember to sign them. (They’re very beautiful. I really enjoy looking at the paintings.) Just tell me which two you would like to take home. (Yes.) I’ll give them to you. Save yourself the trouble of becoming a thief! Tell me clearly – what’s the title? (That one is “Greed.”) Then I’ll send it over to you, OK? (Yes.) Or I can tell (…) to bring it over to you, OK? (Yes.)

OK. If you love art, I’m very proud and very happy too. (Master, do You have any other songs? Please sing another one for us.) (Great! That last song was wonderful!) An Aulacese (Vietnamese) song? (Yes, an Aulacese [Vietnamese] one.) I don’t have many Aulacese (Vietnamese) ones either. (But wasn’t the original version of that song in English, Master?) Yeah, that’s right. (Then it was translated into Aulacese [Vietnamese].) Then it was translated into Chinese and Aulacese (Vietnamese). (Yes.) (Then it was translated into Aulacese [Vietnamese].) (All three languages.) Sometimes I write one in Aulacese (Vietnamese), then translate it into English and Chinese. (Then it was translated into Aulacese [Vietnamese].) This time, I wrote it in English first, then translated it into Aulacese (Vietnamese) and Chinese The English version has a different melody. (Yes.) (Then it was translated into Aulacese [Vietnamese].) It isn’t as lively as this one. The rhythm is something like bolero, right? Cha-cha-cha. (Which melody? From which song?) The one from just now! My Love is far away Hes still remembers who am I? (Paso Doble.) Yeah. (Yes.)

There are a few more – two or three more songs. Two, three more Aulacese (Vietnamese) songs. But haven’t practiced them yet. There was no rehearsal at all. I just wrote them, so I could ask this brother to help write down the musical notes. (Yes.) Because I’ve already sung them. (Yes.) So I asked him to write them down. (Write down the melody.) Transcribe the notes. What other song is there? What other song? An Aulacese (Vietnamese) song. (“Remember Me When the Rain Falls” and “The Supreme Master,” right?)

(Together, together we’ve watched the rainfall.) Ah! Song “Remember Me When the Rain Falls.” Together… That song is hard to sing, huh? (A little high.) Together, together we’ve watched the rainfall. What kind of rhythm is this? (Rumba.) Ah, Rumba. (But a little faster.) What comes next? I forgot.

We’ve watched the rainbow. Remember, remember those times together. Remember, remember those times together.

I like the rain. Because rain is like the message sent down from Heaven. When it rains, it’s also like a bridge connecting Heaven and Earth. So I really like the rain. I often listen to the rain and await the rain together with my disciples. That’s why I wrote this song. Wherever you go, Remember me when the rain falls, Remember me when the rain falls. My dear…

I’ve been coughing for months now. It must be deafening to listen to. (No, Your voice is very good, Master.) (Your voice is really good.) Oh my goodness, I’ve been coughing so much! (Your voice is very good. You can hit both the low and high notes.)

You know how lonely I must be, The rainfall wakes the memory of my faraway Country.

“NGƯỜI” is in uppercase, written in capital letters. “NGƯỜI” refers to GOD, to the DIVINE BEING. Ah. That’s roughly how it goes. There’s still a lot more. (Yes, and Master is tired today, too.) (Alright, we’ll be going now.) (OK.) Going to print the newspaper? (Thank You very much, Master!) OK. Don’t mention it. (Thank You, Master.) I just have so little time. Otherwise, if you like music, I could sit here all day singing for you and reciting poetry, too. I love doing that. Do you like listening to poetry recitations? (Yes, I do.) You like poetry, right? (Yes, of course we do.) Ah, so you do like it.
