But, because they came over here for their company’s business, so the day before, they couldn’t attend Your birthday celebration, because they had to go take care of their company business in order to report the result when they go back home.) Understand. (So, I’d like to ask for two candy portions for those two people.) Yes, OK. (That is the first thing.) OK. They couldn’t come in here on any day? (Yes, the girl who is fluent in English came the other day) Yeah, is that so. (and one other person.) OK, OK. One, two. (Yes, thank You, Master.) In general, people love candies more than they love the person. In the old days, I don’t know how many candies Shakyamuni Buddha had, but He had so many disciples. Now, I have to use candies to attract disciples.
So what else? Anything else? (Dear Master, I’m not sure if this counts as an experience or not. The year I returned to the country, I saw that Hà Nội had group meditation for about two days. Dear Master, because the neighbors saw our house had so many bicycles, motorbikes,) Yeah, that’s right. (and the initiates gathered and made so much noise, the neighbors didn’t know what was going on.) Understand. (If they complain, it’s troublesome for us.) Yes, yes. Of course. (Yes. After that, the group meditation could last longer, and we were able to keep the location.) A little bit discreet, but for not very long, right? (No, actually it’s been a long time.) So it was long.
(For example, we held group meditations at my house for many years. But there was a sister from Canada who came back to Âu Lạc [Vietnam] and stayed for five years, yet she couldn’t find any initiates. And she was living just one block away from my house.) Because you were so quiet. (Each week, we had two group meditations at my house for 2 days) Yeah. (but the sister didn’t know at all. It wasn’t until right before she was about to return to Canada that she accidentally met one initiate, and they introduced her to come to my house. Her eyes were wide open with surprise. She said she had been living just one block away,) But didn’t know. (but she did not know. So based on those things, we should learn from the experience.) Must be discreet, must be discreet.
(Yes. And recently, for example, the security police gave us a subtle warning. They said: “We understand that you ladies and gentlemen are just vegan, do good deeds, avoid bad ones, and meditate. You’re not doing anything wrong.”) Yeah. (“But sometimes your husbands, children, send us letters, asking us to investigate or to go look for you.”) That’s right. (Sometimes, newspaper articles were not written by the government,) No. (but by family members of the initiates who had personal issues.) Right. Not from the initiated couples. For example, the wife was initiated but not the husband (Yes.) then the husband causes problems for other initiates and spreads rumors. (Yes.) Or the husband was initiated but not the wife, then the wife fabricates stories and slanders others. (Yes. So, the security police told us: “Whatever you do, do it in moderation.”) That’s right, that’s right. (Yes, so...) I knew it.
(So for example like that, we Northern initiates can have more and more group meditation.) Ah, that’s right. The Northern people are wise! (For example, Hà Nội has some places for group meditation,) Yeah. (three days a week.) Ah, very good. (Yes.) The Northern initiates are very good. The Southern initiates, (I finished my story.) the comrades in the South continued to expose themselves publicly, so the authorities noticed and became displeased. Sometimes, not exposing your faces, but because the wife was initiated but the husband was not (Yes.) and they start accusing and reporting each other. Or the relatives and the extended family don’t get along well, they also say all sorts of things and make trouble. So pitiful! Never mind. Just try, right? (Yes.) If you can have group meditation, then do it, otherwise... If you can’t have group meditation, then do it with two, three initiates, keep it under 10.
We’re entering someone’s country, we have to show some respect for their government, understand? They also have the destiny to be in that position. What matters is that they’re sitting there. That’s already good enough. We have to give them some good reputation. Respect them. When we come into a country, we should follow its rules, understand? Wherever we are, if we show respect, then there won’t be any problems, but of course, we also need to be a little skillful. I understand when there are so many people involved, it can be a bit difficult, this person listens but the other doesn’t. And sometimes, some people are too honest and straightforward, they don’t know how to handle things delicately. The Northern initiates are smarter, so the Southern initiates should go to the North for a little “training.” (Oh no, in the South, they are also very good, Master.) The Southern initiates? (They are also that good, just not as many.) Anywhere where people are a little wiser, they know to do things more discreetly, so it is OK. But sometimes it’s really pitiful, because the relatives and family members get annoyed or upset when seeing the initiates eating vegan. (Eating vegan is cheaper.) Eating vegan costs less.
Âu Lạc (Vietnam), right? (Yes. Dear Master, today I have the opportunity to sit close to You, so that I can talk to You. First of all, I would like to wish You all the best, and thank You thousands and thousands of times, for You truly saved my life. Recently, I wrote an article for our magazine, where I shared my story in full. For more than 20 years, I suffered from illness and I could not sleep well, not even for one night. But ever since I met Master, and received Master’s videos and books, every time I called Your Name, You saved me immediately. I never had to call twice. Since that day, now more than two years ago, I’ve missed You almost every day, and I’ve cried a lot. But now that I’m here and met You in person, I don’t know what to say, except to thank You for saving my life.) OK.
(As for my life now, it has become brighter and brighter with each passing day. My family consists of my husband, our daughter, and me. Before we found You and began practicing, our life was miserable and dark. But since following Your teaching and practicing spiritually, everything has gradually become more positive and peaceful. Even in difficult situations, while others might face great obstacles – we always feel Your invisible help and support. There are so many miracles, both inner and outer, that I can’t possibly list them all. I just sincerely recited Your Name, then You would save and helped me, even in the most impossible situations. We feel that without You, we could not overcome the challenges we’ve faced.
And now I would like to ask You about some of my inner experiences. Because I’m still quite new, I did not have a lot of inner experiences. When I meditate on the inner [Heavenly] Sound, I noticed the Sound was very faint at first, but now it has gradually become louder, and I feel that I’ve made some progress in [inner Heavenly] Sound meditation. Regarding the [inner Heavenly] Light meditation, I’ve had some inner experiences, but they weren’t the same as what other initiates have described or written about. Still, I had some. For example, after meditating, sometimes, when I was very tired and fell asleep, I saw a starry sky at my Wisdom Eye. As for the Light, many times, I saw it like this. I mean, when I sit in meditation, I didn’t see the Light, but when I stood up and walked out, sorry Master, I went to) The toilet. (sit in the toilet, then at that time, I saw at the Wisdom Eye a very big mirror and there was a picture of an eye. And I thought my eyes were dazzled, but it wasn’t that. That happened many times, and I kept wondering, but I could not... I wanted to write a letter to ask You, but then I thought I shouldn’t, because Master is so busy,) It’s OK. (and my experience was not that significant. So I would like to ask You, was it an inner experience?) Yes, yes. (That’s it. Thank You, Master.)
Sometimes, you can sit in meditation for two hours and see nothing. But when you stand up or lie down, then you have it. It’s not that standing up or lying down gives you the experience, It’s because you already meditated diligently for two or three hours, then when you relax your mind, the experience comes naturally. Sometimes, while meditating, we think too much or wait too eagerly: “My God, I’ve been waiting so long and Master hasn’t come yet. It’s already been one and a half hours, but I still haven’t seen Her, so I’ll just go to sleep.” And then, just as we lie down, we see the inner experience. It is often like that. OK, no problem. We just need to do our duty, sit in meditation for two hours. Two, three hours. Whether or not you have the experience, it doesn’t matter. Sometimes the experience doesn’t come right away, but later you’ll get the result. It’s like planting a tree, you don’t see anything at first, but by the fourth year, it bears fruits, see that? It’s not that it suddenly bears fruit in the fourth year, it’s because we’ve been caring for it all along – three, four years already, so when the time is right, the fruit appears. Understand now? OK. So just do your job. You are the farmer, you just plant, let it grow, and when the time comes, the tree will bear fruit.
